- In the US there is a problem with teens. They like having children a lot and it is causing overpopulation in the US. The average teen to have children is 25.
- The population has grown faster since the Agricultral Revolution, probably because there had been more food to go around.
-For the first time in history, almost half the people of the world will live in an urban area.
-Americans only represent 5% of the world population but consume 25% of it's resources.
- In China there are 24 million motor vehicles. If everyone in China had one then that would mean 1.33 billion vehicles in China! That would make so much pollution!

— Circa 8,000 B.C.: With an estimated world population of 4 million people, the Agricultural Revolution starts, bringing about increased population growth as hunter-gatherer communities change to settlement and farming. 
— 1 A.D: The planet's population reaches 230 million people. 
— 1790: The first national census is conducted in the United States, recording a population of almost 4 million Americans. Today, the U.S. Census Bureau takes a population count every 10 years.
— 1830: The planet's population reaches 1 billion people. 
— 1915: The U.S. population reaches 100 million. 
— 1916: Birth-control activist Margaret Sanger opens America's first family planning and birth control clinic in Brooklyn, New York. The clinic is soon shut down by police, but in 1921, Margaret founds the American Birth Control League to fight global population growth. The organization later becomes the Planned Parenthood Federation of America. 
— 1927: The planet's population reaches 2 billion. 
— 1946-1964: America experiences a baby boom, with an estimated 76 million babies born during these years.

— 1952: The International Planned Parenthood Federation is founded by family planning organizations from Great Britain, Holland, Hong Kong, India, Singapore, Sweden, the U.S. and West Germany. Today, the International Planned Parenthood Federation works in over 180 countries to provide reproductive health care and rights. 
— 1960: The planet's population reaches 3 billion. 
— 1967: The U.S. population reaches 200 million.    
— 1974: The planet's population reaches 4 billion. 
— 1979: China institutes its one-child policy.
— 1980: China becomes the world's first country with a population of 1 billion.
